Services and Fees
Elopements: Performed In Knox County only... $125
Short notice only (48 hours or less): If you have a valid marriage license and just want a quick inexpensive wedding, with or without witnesses, give me a call. If I am available I'm always happy to perform a ceremony for you. I can come to your home, or meet you in a park or the place of your choice. I have married couples with as little as one hours notice.
For those who choose a short ceremony and desire a church wedding, I can perform your wedding at my church for an additional $50 fee, required by the church. Please call first to get directions and see if we are available.
Basic Wedding: Mon. - Thurs. $200 - Fri. - Sun. $250
This includes unlimited consultation via telephone and E-mail, tailoring a ceremony to suit your needs, officiating at the ceremony and sending documents to the probate judge at your county courthouse to be recorded. I will arrive at the wedding site from 30 to 45 minutes before the ceremony to walk through it with you ahead of time, and I will stay for 15 to 30 minutes afterward as needed. There is no charge for a quick walk-through rehearsal an hour before the ceremony. However, there is an extra fee for rehearsals which require an additional day or evening. (see below)
There is no charge for meeting with me for an initial consultation before booking a wedding, IF YOU COME TO GALESBURG. If you want me to drive to you, then there is a $25 fee plus mileage as outlined in the "Travel" section below.
* For those in Knox County who desire a church wedding, I can perform your wedding at my church for an additional $150 fee, required by the church.
Mid-week Wedding and Rehearsal: $300
Week-end Wedding and Rehearsal: $350
This includes all of the above under "basic wedding," plus attendance at your wedding rehearsal on the day or evening before the ceremony. Small informal weddings generally do not need a rehearsal, however if you are having a larger wedding it is recommended. If you do not have a wedding director, I would be happy to direct the rehearsal if needed, at no extra charge.
* For those who are in Knox County who desire a church wedding, I can perform your wedding at my church for an additional $250 fee, required by the church.
Travel: There is no extra charge for travel within 30 miles of Galesburg. I will travel to any of the Illinois Counties of: Knox, Warren, Rock Island, Fulton, Henderson, Henry, Mercer, McDonough, Peoria and Stark (as well as Scott County, Iowa) and the first 30 miles are free. After that there is a travel charge of 55 cents per mile, round trip. The first 30 miles each way are free. This compensates for both my travel time and mileage expense. I will consider traveling further distances upon request.
Counseling: Pre-marital counseling is not required in order for me to perform a ceremony. However, for those who desire it I will counsel with you in my office for $25 per one-hour session. I am not a psychologist, but a pastoral counselor. I have more than 25 years of experience in counseling couples as senior pastor and as a family counselor for a mental health center for 7 years.
Terms: A non-refundable deposit of $75, which is applied toward the total fee, is required to secure your date. The entire wedding fee must be paid by cash, check or money order, no later than 7 days prior to the wedding.
